With over 20 years in the security industry — including years standing post on overnight and weekend shifts — Ezequiel founded Fire Safety Tactics to build the platform he wished existed: one that treats guards fairly and gives businesses real accountability. He built ShiftLinked from the ground up, completing the compliance infrastructure, binding insurance, and building the vetting pipeline himself.
Our Story
Before Ezequiel ever wrote a line of a business plan, he stood post. For more than 20 years, he worked in the security industry — not behind a desk, but on the ground. Overnight shifts when the building was empty and the only sound was his own footsteps. Weekend shifts when everyone else was home with their families. The early mornings, the double shifts, the calls to cover someone who didn't show — he's lived every part of the job he now builds technology around.
That's not a resume line. It's two decades of watching a broken system from the inside — of seeing good, reliable guards get treated like interchangeable parts, and watching businesses get charged premium rates for coverage that was neither fast nor accountable. Year after year, he kept asking the same question: why hasn't anyone fixed this?
Eventually, he stopped asking and started building. Fire Safety Tactics LLC — and ShiftLinked, the platform behind it — exists because Ezequiel understood the problem from both sides of it: as the guard standing the post, and as the operator who saw exactly where the system failed him. He built ShiftLinked to be the platform he wished existed all those years he was out on shift — one that respects guards enough to pay them transparently and treat their time as valuable, and one that gives businesses the speed and accountability they actually need.
Every feature, every policy, every line of the compliance process was built by someone who knows what it feels like to be on the other end of it. Success hasn't changed what matters to him. Fire Safety Tactics is still built the way he'd want it built if he were still the one standing post tonight.
